For those who have been receiving these emails to date, you have seen one of my previously published books released chapter by chapter in the last year. You also saw health videos relating to research studies. Then suddenly you find out about a book-themed tour.
What’s going on?
Well, my company has become more far reaching than what I began with. First, I was a nonprofit arts administrator and professional musician. Then I found myself in the public school system in order to solve why my child was struggling (thus the motivation behind that book - the end result of my doctoral dissertation research - including heavy research in the medical and psychology fields). Then I launched a grant writing and writing business a while ago. This consumed a huge chunk of my time and the musician in me was put on the shelf (tragic after multiple decades of being a professional musician!). Since publishing a couple of books in recent years, I launched a publishing company. It is now in process of obtaining 501(c)3 status in order to be a traditional small press that doesn’t charge authors to publish and polish their books. However, that means selection will be stringent in order to fit the goals of this overall organization.
Obviously, my interests lie in the arts, education, nonprofits, research, and everything books. I have also been traveling non-stop for the past 7 years with my kids and our pets across 27 countries and 4 continents. In the past, I had taken my own choirs and bands on tours and have performed personally on numerous stages in multiple countries. I relish challenging my students and myself to constantly grow, do what is new and difficult, and to expand awareness always.
Publishing Schedule
Join me as I write about educational information pertaining to writing, nonprofits, health, culture, and music on Tuesdays and all things travel on Fridays.
I'm looking at this as a curriculum designer without the tests and assignments involved. It will include narratives about people in the stories we are taking tours about in some cases, as well as travel guides to other destinations. Other days we will explore the cultural aspects of a location, the history, the music, and any factors relating to publication of these stories. This may include details pertaining to inaccuracies and ways to reflect on what we take in.
Tours?
What tours am I talking about? Well, I have launched a tour series called Stories Alive! These will be done annually. Each year will swap between book themed tours and opera/musical/theater themed tours. Every single piece of work will have culture aspects and historical aspects to learn from and to question. The tours are designed to take you to the destinations to further explore these truths in person. They also help you to explore yourself, your health, and how to better consider that in the future. I believe education should be hands-on. I also think you can make it fantastical as you do so.
